Technical Evaluation

Technical Tender Evaluation is always the responsibility of the User Department / Contract Holder.

Technical evaluation for large projects involving large parameters to be assessed could be complex and often difficult to point to A Tenderer.

Technical evaluation based on a weighted marking and scoring system is most commonly adopted and widely practiced as it is scientific and easily auditable. It involves assigning weights against the relative importance of various elements to be considered in the evaluation process. The weightings in combination with a rating against each category would compile to an aggregate numerical score and assist in the evaluation and selection of the technically acceptable Tenderer.

As appropriate, a sensitivity analysis could be conducted in cases where the results could be inconclusive with respect to resource utilization such as man-hours for a wide range of disciplines required.
